AbstractThis work develops and characterises a hierachichal oral drug delivery system based on the microencpasulation of drug-loaded amphiphilic nanogels within a mucoadhesive alginate/chitosan shell. Results show a more controlled release and a statistically significant oral half-life with respect to the free drug.
